Meanwhile, Nicole is being pulled back and forth between Jeremy and Hunter. The Devil's MC is out for blood. And Nicole learns something about herself that she never thought possible. This secret, if revealed, could make her lose everything - her best friend, the only family she's ever known, and the man she loves.

WHAT I LIKED: I'm really glad that the father of Roxy's baby was revealed right away. With that cliffhanger at the end of Burning Desire, I desperately wanted to know. Nicole's story is very interesting and the twist to her past was completely unexpected. There is an element of danger that keeps readers on their toes. The cliffhanger at the end of RIDE HARD is even worse than the one at the end of the previous book. I want the next book now!

WHAT I DISLIKED: I really did not like how Jeremy claimed to love Nicole, but slept around anyway. That does not show love to me at all, and I really can't stand guys like that. I just wanted him to finally just get on with it and tell her that he wanted her to be his, instead of stopping any chance she had of moving on. I also don't like how every other word was the f-bomb. I'm not a person who swears, so that kind of bothered me after a while. I know that it's supposed to fit in with the MC world, but I've read other MC romances that didn't use so much swearing all the time.

Nicole: Roxy's best friend. Nicole and Jeremy have been dancing around their feelings for each other for a while. Starts something up with Hunter. She learns something about herself that could destroy everything she cares about.

Jeremy: Son of the Condemned Angel's MC President. Has been in love with Nicole since their first night together years ago, but doesn't do anything about it, except preventing her from being able to move on to someone else. Best friends with Chase.

Hunter: One of Chase's best friends. Starts something with Nicole after meeting her months before. There isn't much known about him, but there is a surprising revelation at the end of the book.

Roxy: Daughter of the Condemned Angel's MC President and Jeremy's younger sister. Best friends with Nicole. Has been in love with Chase for years. Pregnant with either Chase's or Jake's baby. She ran away for 4 months, afraid to disappoint her father, the club, and Chase if the baby is Jake's.

Chase: Best friends with Jeremy and Hunter. In love with Roxy for years. Drowns himself in alcohol to deal with her 4 month absence. Knows that the baby is his, and is determined to be there for Roxy and the baby.

Jax and the Devils MC are the villains in RIDE HARD. Jax wants revenge for his brother's death and is determined to take it out on Jeremy. He uses Nicole against him. There's more that I could say, but it would give away way too much. So just know that Jax is a sicko and the Devils MC aren't going to stop until they have the revenge they are looking for.

First off, I love Roxy and Chase. Whether the baby is Chase's or not, these two are just awesome together.

Now, Nicole's love life is a little more messy. Nicole and Jeremy have been going back and forth with their feelings. Jeremy claims to love her, but never claims her and sleeps around. And when she tries to move on to someone else, Jeremy does whatever he can to prevent it. That leads to some tense moments now that Hunter is in the picture. Hunter would have been my choice for Nicole, because he's not afraid to admit how he feels about her, but with Jeremy in the way it's pretty much doomed from the start. Then when it finally seems like Nicole and Jeremy are on their way to being together, her unknown past rears its ugly head and it seems like any chance they have has been destroyed. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens for them in the next book. Also Hunter's story is going to be really interesting.

My favorite part was the mystery behind Wolfe. There are so many different parts to who he is. I'm really looking forward to learning more about him. I didn't like how most of the story was about Red and her unfortunate events. I felt that it made the story slower than it could have been. I'm sure that if the book was read as a whole instead of part it would be okay. But when the story is separated into parts like this one is, it makes it feel like slow going. Even though Red and Wolfe dislike each other from the start, there is an attraction that is undeniable. I'm really looking forward to seeing where things go between these two, now that they are on Rabbit Island.

THE GIST: Sass wants a normal life away from the Hellions MC that she grew up with and the man she felt rejected her. Tank is in a coma, unable to wake up but completely aware, after dealing with Delatorre. Sass quickly learns that the normal life she wanted may not be as good as it seemed, and Tank (when he awakes) realizes that he needs to fight for the woman he loves, before he loses her completely.

WHAT I LIKED: What I liked the most about FOREVER RIDE was actually Tank himself. I loved his determination and his outright love and devotion. Oh, I also loved the back story of how Tank came to be in the Hellions MC. I also like seeing all the people from the first book back in this one. There were definitely some twists that I wasn't expecting, and the end of Sass' and Tank's was really nice. I also liked the life speeches that were motorcycle related - the road, the journey, etc. They may seem kind of cheesy while reading, but afterward I was left with a smile on my face.

WHAT I DISLIKED: While I loved Tank in this story, Sass really annoyed me. She was the definition of a doormat in FOREVER RIDE. She was so strong and confident in the first book, and then in this one she just wasn't. I understand the journey she was on and even a little about how she felt, but that is no reason for her to have allowed Nick to do what he did to her. I just wanted to scream at her to get her act together. I cannot stand heroine like this. There were times that it just got to be too much and I had to take a break. After reading Sass' POV, I really looked forward to Tank's afterward. That's really the only thing I didn't like about FOREVER RIDE, the weak heroine. Although she does get her act together by the end - that's the redeeming quality.

Sass: Wants a normal life outside the MC. Lives with her boyfriend Nick. Slowly starts losing who she it as Nick becomes more controlling. Still loves Tank, still visits his bedside, but also keeps a distance between them, since he's a part of the life she wants out of. She makes Nick her priority, but soon realizes that may not have been a good idea.

Tank: In a coma after the take down of Delatorre. While he can't wake up, he is completely aware. In this state, he reflects on his life up to this current point. He realizes how much he really loves Sass, and is determined to fight for her.

Nick: Sass' pretty-boy boyfriend. He was caring in the beginning but his true color quickly began showing when he asked Sass to make him her priority.

Doll: Sass' best friend. Understands Sass' reason and has her back. But she can't help feeling something isn't right.

Tripp: Doll's husband and Tank's friend.

FOREVER RIDE's villain is none other than Nick, Sass' pretty-boy boyfriend. He basically lured her in by pretending to be this loving a caring guy, but he had his own purposes and agenda. He asks, or more like demands, Sass to make him her priority and uses her reasons for leaving the MC against her to isolate herself from her friends and family. I don't want to say anymore about their situations, because it'll give something away, so you'll just need to read the book to get the full situations and the repercussions.

I don't count what happened between Sass and Nick to be a romance, so this is the only time he'll be mentioned in this section.

So in the first book, One Ride, we learn that happened between Sass and Tank after the barbeque (which is revisited in this book, but with more detail), and that is what finally lit the fuel for Sass' reason for wanting a normal life. Basically, she's been in love with Tank for a while, they had a night together, then he treated her like one of the club whores. It's not until afterTank's accident during the Delatorre take down that he realizes his true feeling for her in return, but now she's moved on with Nick. So he's got a fight on his hands if he wants to win her back.

You really see how much Tank really loves Sass by how hard he fights for her, even as she's trying to push him away. Not only that, but when he sees how she's living now with Nick and how the fire has gone out of her eyes, it nearly destroys him, but it also fuels his determination to make her realize that that life is not what she truly wants. 

My favorite line is "I love you, Button, with every beat of my heart." Which is literally the truth.

I was really disappointed with Sass in this whole book. I was just glad when she finally got her act together and realized that she really wanted to be with Tank the whole time.

“Tank, just let it go. Just let me go. Please,” I beg him, unsure how much more I can take before I climb back on his bike and let him take me away.

“Roundman once told me to play the cards life deals us. Well, folding is not an option. You’re in my cards. Life placed you in my hand and I’m building my winning play around you. Sort your shit, Button, because I’m not letting go.”  

The tears are building behind my eyes. “Please, give me time. You were gone a long time.”

“I didn’t come here to upset you or force my hand today. I’m gonna go, but I’m not giving up on you.”  

Leaning over to him since he’s still on his bike, I kiss his cheek. “Until next time, Tank.”

“Until next ride, Button,” he responds with a wink as he cranks the bike and then proceeds to pull away, leaving my heart and my life a mess.

Kieran narrowed his eyes at me and brought the cup to his lips. “Why do they call it The Motorboat anyway?”

“Because it’s so strong it makes your lips do the motorboat thing when you drink it.” I couldn’t fight the grin pulling at my lips as he took a long sip.

“Sssssppppffffffff! Whoa!” He blinked, stared down at the coffee in disbelief, and smacked his lips a couple times.

Someone snorted from back in the kitchen and I unsuccessfully stifled a giggle. “See?”

He shrugged, cheeks reddening. “It’s not bad.”

“Mmm hmm.” I hid my grin, tilting my coffee cup to my lips. Kieran had a mustache of crema on his upper lip and before I could stop myself I ran a finger across it. His eyes shimmered and he flicked his tongue out to get the rest. It grazed my fingertip and I pulled my hand away as blood rushed to my cheeks. “Well, I should get going.”

“Where ya headed?” He took another sip and gritted his teeth to keep from motor-boating again.

“I was just going to do some shopping. Um…you know you don’t have to drink that whole thing to prove anything.” I giggled watching him shake his head after another sip.

“Pfft. It’s just a bit of caffeine.” He grabbed a lid and handed me one. “I was just going ta sit around and write…unless ya wanted some company?”

I should have said no, but nodded instead. Well, at least hopped up on that much espresso he could carry all my bags for me. Hell, with the amount of caffeine in that cup, he could probably haul a whole a semi over his head. He followed me out and we headed a few blocks away to a clothing store. Kieran stopped and tossed his cup into a trashcan before following me in.

“Did you finally give up finishing it?” I glanced down at his empty hands.

“No, I finished the whole cup.”

I coughed and tried not to sputter out my own coffee. “Please tell me you’re joking.”

“What? I feel fine.”

I shook my head and turned to one of the clothing racks. “For now, you mean.”

He shrugged again and slumped down into a chair. I eyed him nervously but for the time being he did seem fine. I grabbed a few sales items off the rack and went to the back to try them on. When I came back out he was slipping off his jacket and beanie.

“You alright?”

“Yeah. Perfectly fine. Just feelin’ warm.” He smiled a bit wide. His pupils were huge and black and his feet bounced against the floor.

“Um, maybe we should go for a walk. Get you to sweat off some of that caffeine.” I placed the clothes down and went over to him. He jumped up to his full six feet like a spring.

“Sounds good ta me!”

Oh dear God…

I grabbed his arm and led him out of the store, but had to double my pace to keep up with his huge strides. “Slow down there, buddy.”

“Hmm? Sorry.” Kieran slowed down but it was still a brisk stride. I grabbed his hand and his fingers drummed against mine. I cast him a nervous sideways glance and saw beads of sweat running down his jawline.

“Have you had anything to eat today?”

“Nope! Not really hungry though.” His words jumbled out together and he rubbed his eyes.

“Maybe we should go back to my place for a snack. You sure you’re still okay?”

“Yeah. Feck! It’s feckin’ hot out, innit?” He let out a huge breath and I shook my head at him.

“It’s fifty degrees and windy.” I slid a subtle finger up to his wrist and felt his pulse. It was thrumming like a hummingbird’s. “Yeah let’s go back to my place and get some food in you. And water. I think you need it.”

Kieran didn’t fight me and we made it back to my building in record time. I probably could have just hopped on his back and had him run there. He trudged up the stairs behind me, losing steam halfway up. His breaths started coming in heavy pants and I cast another wary look at him. The front of his shirt was soaked with sweat. We made it to my apartment without him collapsing or going into cardiac arrest and I went straight for the kitchen to make him a sandwich and a glass of water.

“Jahysus, I’m sweating like a pig!”

I turned around to find a shirtless, glistening Kieran standing in the middle of my studio apartment, dabbing sweat off his chest with his t-shirt. Suddenly it did feel a little warm out. I placed the food and water down on the coffee table and grabbed his hand, steering him to the couch.

“Why don’t you have a seat and eat something, hmm?”

“Oh, thanks! Feeling a little light-headed, actually.” He said in a breathless voice. I sat down next to him, watching him wolf down the sandwich and water. I grabbed him another glass, then another.

“Helping any?”

“A little.” He nodded, blinking and rubbing his eyes again. I touched my fingers to his carotid. His heart was still racing. I gave him another glass of water and his hands shook as he brought it to his lips.

“Maybe a hot shower will calm you down a little.”

“Shayne, I’m fine. Really!” He laughed, his voice equally as shaky as his hands. Unconvinced, I pulled him off the couch and to the bathroom, sitting him down on the closed toilet. “I’m okay. Just a lil’ wound up.”

I turned on the shower and held my hand under the stream of water until it was comfortably warm. Kieran stood up behind me but I paid him no mind—until something brushed against my ass.

“Kieran?”

“Mmm hmmm.” The low husky sound told me exactly what it was that had touched my ass.

“You’re naked, aren’t you?”

“Yeah, ya said we’re taking a shower.” He ran his hand over my backside and pressed his erection against me again. I swallowed hard in an attempt to maintain my composure.

“No. I said you were.”

He giggled—actually giggled. “No, ya said a nice hot shower would calm me down. Ya didn’t say it would be by myself.” Another hand slid around to one of my breasts.

“I-it was implied.” I stuttered. His breath tickled my neck and my muscles clenched with need, completely betraying my words.

Oh! My! Goodness! I cannot say enough how much I freaking love this series! CARNAL DESIRE is even more gripping and intense than Severed Angel. I was left holding my breath at times, my heart would race as the final showdown approached, and the love and passion is sizzling.

I really liked that Ink got his own POV in this book and started a relationship with Elle, a woman Eve met on her plane ride back to England. 

There is a rat within the Severed MC, and when his POV comes up, we don't know who it is until toward the end of the book. But let me tell you, it wasn't at all who I thought it would be. I was completely surprised and shocked at who is was revealed to be. The final outcome of this man's choice is really heartbreaking, so make sure you have some Kleenex ready.

A new member to the Severed MC is introduced in CARNAL DESIRE by the name of Justice. Luckily, we get to read his story in the next book, Severed Justice. So looking forward to it!

Eve: Heartbroken at having to leave Angel behind, but needs to be with her daughter. Feels relieves knowing that Satan can't come after her anymore, but when she sees Angel in England telling her that Satan is now free, she's terrified for her daughter and mother. Moves to Australia with her daughter to be with Angel and have the protection of the Severed MC. Her love for Angel grows when she see how he is with her daughter and she knows that she'll not be able to leave him again.

Angel: Terrified that Satan will get to Eve before he can. When he gets to her he insists, more like demands, that she and her daughter come live with him in Australia where he and the Severed MC can protect them. He doesn't plan on letting Eve go again and he absolutely adores her daughter. When all things are finished and they are safe, he plans on buying the three of them a house to live in together. 

Ink: Feels an instant attraction to Eve's friend Elle. They travel for a little while together after Angel takes Eve back to Australia, and they have a good time. But when they both arrive in Australia, things between them get more serious, Ink freaks, and does something stupid.

Elle: Met Eve on their plane ride to England. She's wanted to meet Ink ever since she was shown pictures from Eve's phone. When she finally does meet him, she's smitten. But as her feelings for Ink grow, her past comes back to haunt her. When she catches Ink's betrayal, she's so hurt that she leaves him and the clubhouse.

Satan: He's quite literally going insane.

Once again, Satan shows how truly evil he is in CARNAL DESIRE. But this time around, we see the true depths of his depravity. He is a truly terrifying villain to read. I don't want to go into much about it, but I'll just say that if you thought that he was a sick, twisted freak in Severed Angel, he is way worse in CARNAL DESIRE. Just a word of warning, that when you read his POV you may need to brace yourselves for it.

CARNAL DESIRE shows the solidification of Angel's and Eve's relationship. They are closer than ever in this book, and I absolutely loved seeing how Angel interacted with Eve's daughter. He truly loves that little girl and he plans on making sure that they all stay together as a family once Satan is dealt with. Their relationship is still hot and steamy, but this time there is a sweetness added to it that I couldn't help but love.

I really enjoyed reading about Ink's and Elle's relationship. It's passionate, but also rocky ground for them. Especially when things begin to become serious and their pasts get in the way. It takes a little intervention on Eve's part to get them to try and fix things.
