FOUR WILDE BROTHERS...ONE WILDE COUNTRY BAND
WILDE RIDERS is the first novel in a spicy new contemporary romance series about four sexy brothers, their small-town bar and their local country band. WILDE RIDERS can be read as a STAND ALONE NOVEL or as part of the SERIES.
Cooper Wilde spent his entire adolescence counting the days until he could escape rural northwest New Jersey. Now at 26, he can't believe he's coming back. But his late father's bar, Haymakers, is in financial trouble and his older brother, Jake, has asked for Cooper's help.
Riley Smith, 25, is fresh out of her Ivy League MBA program and wants to make an impression on her employer, H & C Bank. Her first solo assignment is a fraud investigation on a business loan they made to Haymakers.
Even though Old Town is less than 90 minutes from New York City, Riley feels like she's stepped into another world in this remote, one-bar town. Riley can't wait to do her business and get back to the city as quickly as her sports car will take her...until she meets Cooper Wilde. He's not like the other guys in this rural town and Riley feels inexplicably attracted to him.
If you like your trucks loud, your beer cold and your men hot...you'll love WILDE RIDERS.
Cooper Wilde was a country boy in a country band from a small town in New Jersey. Then he went to an Ivy League school and now lives in Manhattan working on Wall Street. Now he's going back home to help his brother Jake clean up the mess he made of their family bar's financial books. They are being investigated for loan default and fraud.
Enter Riley Smith, the one investigating the fraud charges. She hates the country even more than Cooper does and just wants to get in, get the job done, and get out. But her stay in Old Town is prolonged when her car is crashed into by Cooper's younger brother Tucker. Now she's stuck in town while her car is being fixed and staying at the Wilde family's house. And as she gets to know Cooper, she's not so desperate to leave anymore.
Love isn't in either of their plans for the future, but their hearts have a different plan entirely.
WILDE RIDERS is a story about finding love in the least likely place and shows that family is important no matter what.
I liked the journey that Cooper and Riley went on in WILDE RIDERS. Cooper is brought to realize that where we come from is just as important was where we are and where we are going. And Riley is brought to realize that there is more to a person than what's on the outside.
It's also cool that the song "Summer" that the Wilde Riders perform is by an artist originally from Minnesota by the name Dan Patrick Fulton.
I also like how we are introduced to each of the Wilde boys - Jake, Tucker and Hunter, each of whom will have a book of their own after Cooper's.
Cooper: A country boy turned Wall Streeter. Plays guitar in the Wilde Riders band with his brothers. People see him as intense and hard to approach. Always felt like he was overshadowed by his brother Jake.
Riley: From a well-to-do family with strict parents. Works at the bank investigating the Wilde family. She's done with guys who are "Wall Street wannabes."
Cooper and Riley meet when she enters his family's bar, Haymakers. He's there to help Jake with the bar's books, and Riley's there to investigate the fraud charges against them. Her stay in Old Town is extended when Tucker crashes into her car. Cooper offers her a guest room in his family's house.
As Riley gets to know Cooper (the country boy side of him) she begins to fall for him, as he begins falling for her. But when she learns that Cooper is more than the country boy she thinks he is, she feels betrayed and runs back to the city. This leads Cooper to return as well and try to fix things.
I really liked the relationship between Cooper and Riley. Not only do they come to love each other, but it was also a learning experience for them both. They both learned important lessons that they needed to learn to become better people themselves.
